If you have been a long time reader, you know all about my quest to have pretty, soft, non-wrinkly skin and stop breaking out at my age. I must admit that my eating habits are not up to par. I blame my husband. I swear he could eat pizza three times a day 7 days a week if I let him, and well, I need to blame someone right?
I know it comes from the inside out.

Of course it is the food you think it is, but I wanted to share why those foods help your skin look beautiful. Now is the time. It's March, and it is getting so close to summer, and with that comes vacation, BBQ's, outing's and I think I am ready to blow everyone away with my glowing skin.
Veggies - Green ones are the best. Loaded with skin-protective antioxidants and help keep you skin's outer layer hydrated. Broccoli, spinach, squash, brussel sprouts.
Berries - Antioxidants are special chemicals that assist in skin repair and the strengthening of blood vessels. It has also been proven eating fruit prevents UV damage. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries.
Protein - One serving equals one egg, or 3 ounces of fish or meat or 1/2 cup beans. Protein is critical to collagen production. 4-6 servings is the recommendation.
Water - Minimum eight 8-ounce glasses. Water is essential for hydrating skin and plumps and erases wrinkles.
Whole Grains - Unlike processed, refined carbs (like white flour,) whole grains have the shell of the grain intact. Inside the shell contains nutrients that help the body produce glycosaminoglycans, substances necessary for the skin to build firming collagen and elastin fibers. Brown rice, millet, quinoa.
Fats - Healthy and unsaturated fats help keep skin from getting dry and dull. Avocados, salmon, flaxseed oil or seeds.
