What can I say? These Jello shots inside a fresh strawberry are; To.Die.For. I mean, I don't even think the pictures give them justice. I am by no means a great photographer, but I tried to grab the essence of this gloriousness. Add a little whipped cream on top, pop one in, and it is literally a party in your mouth. They can be very dangerous because it tasted like a yummy dessert, and I could not taste much of the alcohol. So I am sure these little puppies could get a little out of hand if you let it. But then again, maybe that is the point right? You will not be disappointed with these. They will gain all kinds of "Oooh's and aaah's" and they are easy to make. And might I say, totally worth it! And since we now know that
strawberries are good for brain function and acne, it is an even better excuse to make these puppies!
Wash the strawberries and core out the center, but be careful not to make a hole. Cut the bottom so the strawberry can stand flat.
1 large box strawberry Jello
1 cup boiling water
1 cup chilled vodka (I keep mine in the freezer.) This is amazing with whip cream vodka.
Boil water in microwave, about 2-3 minutes. Mix Jello until it dissolves. Let cool completely, then add vodka. Fill strawberries as full as you can. Let chill overnight. It will take longer to gel because of the alcohol.
Don't forget the whipped cream!
Yum! I can't wait to make these! I be they are yummy without alcohol too!

ReplyDeleteAlso delicious with Coconut Malibu instead of vodka.

Making these this weekend for Girl's Night Out at local upscale hotel in ATLANTA.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I pureed the strawberries and make it shooter cups, would it work as well. I'm concerned about tearing up the strawberries to bits.
I'm not sure if that would work or not. You could try it. There just needs to be enough jello for it to set in the fridge. It is not too hard to core out the strawberries. It just takes time.
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
