My Rodan and Fields Review on Anti-Age and Soothe

I feel like I am always worrying about my skin. Whether I am trying to keep my acne under control, which I thought by this time in my life, would be the last thing on my mind. I try to make sure that I am taking care of it, so that it doesn’t age at the speed of light.

I am also always trying to find the best skincare for my skin, and keep the aging down to a snails pace. I feel like I have tried almost everything on the market. I am not sure if I am just really picky, or if what I am trying is just not fitting my needs. I have combination skin, and if I get a cleanser that is moisturizing, my skin feels oily when I wake up, and if I use a cleanser for oily skin, then my cheeks dry out and will peel.

It is such a conundrum! I have tried so many cleanses and systems that I have a huge box of products in my bathroom closet. I have tried Proactive, more than once. I was not such a fan, and I didn’t feel like my acne cleared up so easily like those commercials say. In fact, I guess my skin is pretty sensitive because the toner full-on burned my skin! My chin formed a scab in the shape of the cotton ball that I used the toner on a pimple. Needless to say, don’t let toner sit on your face.

So, when I found out that my cousin was beginning her own business to become a consultant for Rodan and Fields, I couldn’t resit asking her if she would be willing to send me some products to try. I have heard so many good things about Rodan and Fields products, and it seemed a little more grown up to me than Proactive. Luckily my cousin loves me, and she agreed to help me in my quest to find something that will work for my manic-depressive skin.

I was so happy when she agreed because Rodan and Fields can be a little expensive, so it’s always nice to know if you really like the product before you invest your hard earn money into it. However, I was more that pleased to find out that they’re not messing around here. I took into perspective that there are a lot of skin care products that charge a lot of money for just one product. You may have seen my Lancome obsession picture on Twitter or Instagram this week and I can get an entire Rodan and Fields system for almost what I pay for one department store cream.

So let’s get to it. I was spoiled by my cousin Kelli and she sent me two systems to try out of six to choose from. The different types of systems you can get are:

  • Reverse – For brown spots, dullness and sun damage
  • Soothe - For Sensitive, irritated skin and facial redness
  • Unblemish - For acne and post-acne marks
  • Anti-Age – For wrinkles, pores and loss of firmness
  • Essentials – Everyday Dermatological necessities
  • Enhancements – Optimizing the results of your regimen with makeup
My sweet cousin gave me the Anti-Age and Soothe Regimens. The Soothe regimen system includes a four part system. Here are my thoughts on the Soothe system and what it includes.

SOOTHE Gentle Cream Wash
Dissolves and sweeps away makeup and other skin impurities without the use of harsh surfactants.
I really like this cleanser. It is not harsh but my skin always felt clean, but not that squeaky clean that makes your skin feel tight.

SOOTHE Sensitive Skin Treatment
Helps to interrupt the inflammatory cascade to promote smooth, clear, healthy-looking skin. This cream is supposed to help clear up redness due to inflamed pores, or if you picked a pimple that you shouldn’t have. I know, it was just a one time thing right? I decided to try the cream on a pimple I had picked and the skin around it was red and inflamed and the redness went away in five minutes. That was all the convincing I needed for this product.
SOOTHE Moisture Replenishing Cream
Rich, dewy formula soothes, hydrates and nourishes. Utilizes RF COLD FISSION™ technology to replenish skin’s natural moisturizing factors without the use of traditional emulsifiers. This moisturizer absorbs well and I didn’t wake up with my skin feeling greasy the next morning. My skin felt smooth and soft after using this cream for about a week, night and day.
SOOTHE Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
Broad spectrum SPF 30 contains only mineral-based sunscreen ingredients that can keep the skin’s surface cooler and minimize the appearance of facial redness. We all know how I feel about the importance of SPF. So I was pleased to see this in the package. I used this on my hands and face and it absorbed quickly which is a must for me. It was not greasy and a good size to keep in my purse for those times I may be out in the sun all day.
I have to say that I loved this system so much. I do some things for my anti-aging regimen with eye-creams and facial night creams, but this system brought my regimen to the next level. I was given the Anti-Age AMP MD System. This is a 4-piece system that included a Anti-aging skin roller, Night renewing serum and a cleansing vial and purification tablets to clean the skin roller.
AMP MD Face Roller
It has tiny little needles that penetrate the skin and opens pores to help absorb the renewing serum. The purpose is to stimulate elastin and collagen production in the skin. It also is supposed to help erase fine lines, reduce the size of your pores, and can help improve the appearance of acne scars. I felt after doing the roller ater two weeks that my skin felt tighter and smoother. I don’t have a lot of fine lines yet, but I felt this product was the perfect solution to keep it that way and continue to promote my skin to produce the collagen. I just lightly rolled the roller all over my face and neck. I actually only did the roller every couple of days, just to give my face a break and a chance to repair. This is the first time I have done any type of next level anti-aging routine and I didn’t want to shock my skin too much.
I have to be honest, I tried it the first time, and I guess I was barely touching my skin because it didn’t hurt at all, however, since then, I have rolled it at a more normal pressure and it did hurt a little bit. After I roll the roller over my face, my skin felt like it had been sunburned, but after I put the serum on, it cooled my face and felt so much better.

Anti-Age Night Renewal Serum
This anti-age night serum is supposed to work with the roller. After you wash your face, use the roller, then you can use one of the capsules to rub all over your face and neck. It’s purpose is to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, increase elasticity and enhance firmness of your skin. It comes with 30 capsules, so a 30-day supply. Each capsule has one dose of peptides and retinol. It is portioned out so you use the right amount for your face every night.
This serum has been featured in many magazine outlets as being one of the best anti-aging serums; Allure Magazine, March 2012, Harper’s Bazaar, October 2011, More Magazine, September 2009, Oprah Magazine, September 2006.

Cleansing Vial and Purification Tablets
This system also comes with a purifying vial and tablets for the skin roller. It says to clean your roller twice a week in the vial to get rid of the skin cells and dirt.
Just attach the roller to the lid of the vial and let sit in the solution for 15 minutes. I thought this was very ingenious and convenient to clean, and I know that it is getting the roller clean.
I know this is a long post, and I hope you stuck through it with me, but there is a lot of info to give, and I wanted to give you all a thorough review of what I thought after using it. There are so many different skin care options and at our age, I think we are just finding out what is out there, but not ready for some serious anti-aging routines yet because our skin still looks good.
I have to say after trying this system, that it is a great intro to an anti-aging regime and is a good starter system. I didn’t feel it was too extreme, but just right to get started. If you are not interested in the Anti-aging yet, I would recommend the SOOTHE system to have a good cleansing regimen for your skin, and eventually move to the next level of the anti-aging down the road.
I do want to mention that this anti-aging system was just one of a few you can choose from to fit your needs and you don’t’ have to get a full system. You can also buy each piece individually if you wanted to try them out before you bought them in a package. There is some hand brightening and anti-aging products that I would be interested in learning more about and trying. I have to repair all that damage I did when I was getting those manicures with the UV light curer.
If you are interested in any info or purchasing any of these items, you should totally email my cousin Kelli. She is super nice and knowledgeable and can help you with any questions you may have, or get you any products you need from Rodan and Fields.

    Hi Fashion,
I should have been more specific. The needles are not sharp, and they are so close together that it did not hurt at all. However, I was gentle on my skin. If you pressed hard, you could do some damage and possibly puncture your skin, but the directions are to lightly roll all over your face in sections. It just felt like I was exfolitating. Thanks for your question!

I know that this is an old post, but I was just wondering if you are still happy with this product and whether your cousin has had a good experience with her business. I have been looking at these products for awhile and have not seen anything regarding the long term use of the product.
    Thanks,

    Hello ladies,

Well, I have to be honest. I liked the SOOTHE solutions but I LOVED Anti-age solution. I actually heard that they took it off the market a few months ago, but it might be back. They were just waiting for the roller to be FDA approved. I liked the serum and the pin roller a lot. I do think it made a difference. I didn’t continue to use the Soothe. I actually use a higher SPF of 50 and the cleanser was nice and not harsh, but I never bought any more.
    I hope that helped.
    Thanks!

I’m thinking about initially buying the Reverse system, with the macro exfoliator…..but it appears to be in an autoship order format……..I know I can delay a shipment BUT for how long can I delay OR can even opt out or anymore shipments?

I am excited about the macro exfoliator more than anything, and I want to give the Reverse a try……

So I guess I’m asking am I held to these products be it indivdual or packages for life meaning my card being charged……they do need my permission to charge me in the future correct? Can I cancel any future orders and never to be charged again……

I know with Proactiv they preferred you do autoship and yes you could opt out at any time, never to be charged again….I just want to make sure that is the case here because skin changes, reaction to products changes, finances change and all these things could occur AFTER the 60 day money back if not satisfied……. Let’s be honest….I just want to make sure what I am signing up for….

      Hi Anonymous,

I wish I could answer any of your questions, but I was never a consultant or sold these products. I just tried them out and wrote my review of what I thought of Rodan and Fields. You should be able to find a consultant that can answer these questions.

      Good luck!

Hi there! I am a consultant for Rodan + Fields and saw that the post above was not answered, SO…First of all I want to say thank you for your fantastic, honest review! to answer the question, yes, you can defer your shipment for as long as you want. You can cancel at any time, and can also change your order to other products if you want. The PC Perks program is very flexible. Also, all products come with a 60 day, empty bottle, $$$ back guarantee, so if you don’t like it you can return it for a full refund. I hope this helps!!!
