Jessica Simpson, 31, has finally given birth! The much, much anticipated birth has been all over the news and many celebrities and talk show hosts have put in their two cents about "When is Jessica finally going to pop?" I got so irritated with everyone and their comments that I also wrote my "two cents" about the whole large pregnancy sitch.
Today was the day. Jessica gave birth this morning to a baby daughter that she and her fiancee Eric Johnson named Maxwell Drew Johnson.
"Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 3/4," Simpson wrote on her website this morning. ""We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!"According to a source, little Maxwell takes her middle name from her maternal grandmother, Tina Simpson, whose maiden name is Drew. "Mother and baby are doing just fine," the source told Us Magazine.
Jessica and her man Eric got engaged in November 2010 after six months of dating. They have not set a wedding date as of yet because they wanted to wait until Jessica had their baby. Jessica has been reported saying Eric "feels like my husband already."
Another celebrity mom has made a birth announcement this week. Maggie Gyllenhaal, 34, and her husband Peter Sarsgaard welcomed another baby girl on April 19th. The baby, named Gloria Ray, joins big sister Ramona, 5.
In March Maggie confirmed that she was having a girl and admitted to hiding her pregnancy. "I find it difficult to pretend you're not pregnant, which I had to do," she said. "I didn't let anyone know until three and a half months this time. I went to film festivals. I'm throwing up in the bathroom and having to keep pretzels in my purse, and having to fit into dresses."
