If your image of South Carolina is pristine 1780s historic mansions, then Lowndes Grove is the place to be. You’ll find it on the banks of the Ashley River with more than 14 acres of estate and wraparound piazzas. There are manicured lawns and a private long dock with beautiful views over the waterway.
