Did you know you can make your own butter in 1 step in just a few minutes? I didn’t. I don’t own a butter churn and was sure that it was a fiasco to make like all homemade things in life. It wasn’t until I came across a blog that informed me how easy it was. I had always wanted to make it, but never really thought of it. Until, last night.
For dinner I was craving some grilled corn on the cob. I realized that we were out of butter. Who runs out of butter? Seriously? You CANNOT have corn on the cob without slathering it in butter and salt, at least not in this house. Luckily to go with our meal I made The Easiest Cheesiest Potatoes and had some cream left over. So I threw it into my food processor and let it spin for about 5 minutes. I didn’t really keep track, but I added some salt, parsley and garlic powder. I let it spin until the liquid separated and the cream was the consistency of butter. I drained off the liquid and voila! Butter! OMG, I can’t express to you how good it was. Creamy whipped butter made in seconds. It made a ton of butter. A lot more than I expected. You have to try this!
Ingredients:
1 cups heavy cream
1/8 teaspoon salt
You can add any herbs, chopped garlic cloves, garlic powder. Anything you can think of.
If you need to you can press the butter with the back of a spoon in a bowl to get rid of the excess liquid.

We use to do this as a project with the kids, at I daycare I worked at. We’d put the heavy whipping cream in a clean baby food jar…and let em shake it till it was done. Then we’d have it on crackers or something for snack. The kids really enjoyed making their own butter and it IS so yummy!!!!
