10 Clairol Natural Instincts Recall

April 22, 2011 By Erin Kennedy 7 Comments

Ladies, if you used or getting ready to use Clairol Natural Instincts to dye your hair, or color those roots then pay attention! Proctor & Gamble just recalled 10 different shades from their popular line. A complaint from a customer is what prompted the attention that the ColorFresh! Revitalizer (a refresher that is applied two weeks after the initial color to enhance the hair’s tone) was mis-matched in 10 of it’s hair color kits.

The shades recalled include:

• Natural Instincts Shade 16 Light Auburn (Spiced Tea)
• Natural Instincts Shade 35 Brown Black (Ebony Mocha)
• Natural Instincts Creme Shade 03G Light Golden Blonde (Honey Creme)
• Natural Instincts Creme Shade 7.5 Dark Blonde (Maple Creme)
• Natural Instincts Shade 21G Medium Golden Brown (Caramel Creme)
• Natural Instincts Creme Shade 23R Medium Auburn (Raspberry Creme)
• Natural Instincts Creme Shade 30R Dark Auburn (Cherry Creme)
• Natural Instincts Creme Shade 31 Darkest Brown (Coffee Creme)
• Natural Instincts Vibrant Shade 9 Natural Light Blonde (Blonde Vibrance)
• Natural Instincts Vibrant Shade 10 Extra Light Blonde (Sun-Kissed Blonde)

P&G confirms that the hair color in the kit is correct but if you have purchased any of the above colors to throw them out. P&G is issuing refunds and providing correction services

“The quality of our products and satisfaction of the women who use them is our top priority,” Miller told StyleList. “P&G corrected the issue and will have product back on the shelf in May 2011.”

We found spiced tea on sale at one of our stores, but what I’m reading is it IS the correct color to use still. I am correct in thinking this yes? It’s only the added packet that was affected…

I purchased my hair color years ago and never used. I am just now finding out about this recall. So its sitting in my bathroom and had been thinking of coloring my hair and wondered if it was still ok to use. That’s how I come to see this recall. It is the light golden blonde (honey creme)

I wouldn’t use it. It would cost you a lot more to have to go to a salon to get it fixed than just buying a new one.
