My best friend Meghan came to visit me last weekend, and yeah, let’s just say that I gained all my weight back from the Fat Fruit Flush and had the best time. There is nothing like your best friend who knows all your good, all your bad, and loves you for it. So when we are together, it is happiness in my soul, especially since we don’t live in the same state any longer.
Back story: I met Meghan about 30 years ago when we were 3-years-old in dance class. Our mothers wanted a carpool group in the neighborhood and from that, we became inseparable. As we got older, life came upon us, new friends came and went. During Jr. High, Meghan’s family moved, went to another high school and we grew apart. We did not speak for about six or seven years. Then one day I ran into a mutual friend who wanted to go visit Meghan for old time’s sake. We were 20 years old. Meghan called me the next day and invited me to her family’s annual 4th of July party that I had attended many times before. After that day, we were right back to being inseparable, and that was 13 years ago.
Meghan and her husband moved to Phoenix 7 years ago so her hubs could go to graduate school. A year and a half later, I decided to sell my house, quit my amaze job and move to Phoenix and start a new adventure. It was the biggest thing I have ever done in my life, and also the scariest. However, it was the best decision I have ever made.
So Meghan’s husband graduated, and she and her husband decided to move back to Salt Lake City, Utah about 3 years ago. This is the first trip that she and her husband have been able to take together to visit us. Needless to say, it was like old times when they lived here and we had a fabulous time. Here are some of the pics of the weekend. Disclaimer: There was a lot of alcohol consumed.
Drinks and appetizers at Postino’s in Phoenix.
Trip to Sephora
Drinks with my bee eff while the boys gamble at Talking Stick Casino and Resort.
They ran out of martini glasses and made our drinks HUGE!
Yeah, that is me icing down my martini. My hangovers are not working out as well as they used to.
Enjoying our drinks.
The hubs playing some craps and giving each other advice. Hopefully one day they will get over their desire for anonymity on my blog. But they sure are cute. Especially the one in the Phillies shirt.
Happy weekend lovelies!
