When Girl Meets 30

37-Year-Old and Grandmother Makes Oakland Raiders Cheerleader!

July 30, 2011 By Erin Kennedy 1 Comment

The Raiders have hired Susie Sanchez,37-years-old, and grandmother, as one of their sideline cheerleaders for the 2011-12 season.

Susie is a mother of three, and grandmother of one. After several tryouts, she finally made the team

Sanchez impressed the judges with her dancing ability, skill, and presence. She’s been dancing since she was 8 years old, and is now the oldest member of the Raiderettes squad.

“I just started crying,” she said after finding out she made it. “It was like, ‘wow.’ I was overwhelmed with emotion…just never give up.”

Congrats to Susie for not giving up on her dream, no matter what her age!
