Erin’s blog is a fabulous reminder to embrace each new decade. Every little line and wrinkle shows that we’ve done lots of smiling, laughing, and living throughout our time on this planet (or wherever you may happen to reside).
Even so, I am not ashamed to admit that I’d still like as few of those lines and wrinkles as possible, and I’m all in favor of aging gracefully.
I suppose that I could get some Botox injections, a face lift, or buy very expensive creams, but the foods that we eat can also have a great impact on how we look. And since I hate needles but love to eat, food is my preferred anti-aging weapon.
Here are 5 of the many foods that can help us to look (and most importantly, feel) our very best!
These berries are loaded with antioxidants and help to prevent free radical damage. I love to add them to yogurt, cereal, smoothies, and even salads! I just wish that blueberry muffins and blueberry pie counted for something.
2. Tomatoes
As we all know, a little sun is very good for us, but too much unprotected exposure can lead to wrinkles, skin damage, and sometimes even melanoma. Tomatoes are so wonderful because they contain lycopene which has been found to offer some natural UV protection.
Avocados are an amazing source of healthy fats and can make our skin supple and plump (in a good way). I love to add avocado to my salads, spread it on whole grain toast, and of course, there’s also my best friend…guacamole.
4. Red Wine
Red wine contains an antioxidant called resveratrol making it the perfect excuse to keep your wine fridge fully stocked at all times. (This is definitely my favorite on the list!)
5. Cucumbers
Cucumbers contain silica which helps to boost collagen production. Who needs injections when you can hit up the produce section instead?
I hope that this list encourages you to take care of your outer beauty starting from the inside. And if nothing else, you’re probably pretty inspired to join your girlfriends for some wine at Happy Hour or go out for Mexican food where you can indulge in the chips, salsa, and guacamole!

I agree about the wine, but also the tomatoes as I love eating them.
