The 1980’s. Something that kids these days will never understand. Growing up in the ’80s is something that I think we all treasure. There is nothing like the ’80s, especially when it comes to the toys and pop culture. I remember almost every single one of the items on this list, and some made me laugh. Others made me cringe knowing that I am guilty of committing much of the fashion and style that was displayed.

6. The importance of nailing the perfect sideways ponytail.
I am absolutely guilty of this. I remember mastering this look in the fifth grade and I thought it was the cutest hairstyle ever! I was surprised when I didn’t get as many compliments as I was anticipating.
18. The squishy, fun companionship of Pound Puppies.
I was absolutely in LOVE with my pound puppy. I had the grey one with black spots and it was such a happy day when they came out with the little puppies. I had about 10 of them. I am pretty sure that my pound puppy is still in my mom’s basement.
39. L.A. Gear was the only sneaker brand that mattered.
This is more than the truth. How could you wear any other type of tennis shoe than this brand. Or if you are from the East coast, these are sneakers. Where I grew up, we called them Tennis shoe. My husband routinely likes to correct me and tell me I don’t play tennis!
These shoes were a must have to go with the Guess jeans and anything, and I mean anything that was Esprit.
43. You wanted to be best friends with the girl at camp who had this rad boombox.
My best friend Meghan had one of these, and I was so envious. It was this exact one and color. We would listen to Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Michael Jackson on it all day long. On cassette tapes that we recorded the songs on from the radio. (Obviously)
48. The struggle of trying to keep your T-shirt clip tight.
I loved these shirt ties so much that I had one in every color. And it is so true, they would never stay on. I think I had to tighten it 50 times a day. The things we endure for fashion.

OMG! I love this post! I totally forgot about ESPRIT & L.A. Gear! I still miss my Pound Puppies although I do think I still might have one at my parent’s house somewhere. :) Side note: Do you remember Sweet Secrets? I totally saw a woman wearing one the other day, and it made my week!

im the only one on this board who didn’t grow up in the 80’s but man i wish i did. i missed out on alot! oh man oh man! i wish i was an 80’s kid.
