Earl Gray Tea and How It Can Help You Lose Weight

March 5, 2012 By Erin Kennedy 4 Comments

Are you a tea drinker? Then I have some good news for you, as long as you are willing to drink it without added sugar that is.

New research from Italian university showed that the citrus extract that gives Earl gray its flavor, could help you to lose weight (read the latest groundbreaking research), lower cholesterol, and protect against diabetes.

There is a type of orange called bergamot that grows in the Mediterranean that contains ingredients that can boost metabolism, and prevent cholesterol absorption in your stomach.

In the tea, bergamot lightens the body calories and allows them to be broken down into foods for the muscle, with the most other waste released through the natural metabolic process.

Ear Gray offers a lot of health benefits in addition to weight loss (new science-backed research).

Earl Grey tea proves effective against heart disease, stroke and may forms of cancer, including esophageal, bladder, colorectal, lung, mouth, and pancreatic cancers. Four cups a day, according to researchers, allows for the optimal benefits associated with health. Drinking more than two cups a day has been shown in clinical trials to reduce heart attack by as much as 10%. It has also been shown to block LDL (bad) cholesterol and increases HDL (good) cholesterol, improving artery function by unclogging passageways.

So get to brewing some Earl gray with lemon. Try your best to not add sugar and cream, since that will defeat the calorie burning purpose.

You can, but the honey would be adding extra calories where the lemon would not. Something to think about if you’re trying to lose weight (read the latest groundbreaking research).
