Feather Hair Trend: Inexpensively

June 16, 2011 By Erin Kennedy 3 Comments

Hair feathers are the newest trend in Hollywood, and now for the rest of us. I have seen these feathers in lots of pictures on Facebook, and even my server at a restaurant was wearing them! They are cute but don’t get tricked into paying a hundred dollars or more for your hair stylist to put them in.

You can go to your local fishing shop and get the feathers the fishermen use to attract fish. They are called rooster feathers or fly ties. You can tie them into your hair, or go to your local Michael’s craft store and purchase a clip that you can glue to it. It will save you a lot of money, and you will still be in the trend looking hot!

If your fish shops are sold out, you can try to find them on etsy or ebay. They are selling some cute one’s there.  Keep in mind, these are not extensions so you can remove when you need to.

Hmmm… I don’t think there is a fishing shop anywhere around here. But I bet I can find cheap feathers somewhere to do this on the cheap. Seems insane to spend $100s to get a stylist to clip a feather in your hair!
