Happy Fourth of July everyone! I hope you are enjoying the start of a wonderful 4-day weekend! The best part if you ask me! Now let’s get this weekend started with a festive, colorful and very patriotic beverage that of course is for the adults only.
It is a little hot today in Phoenix, but what do I expect by living here? Not a lot of plans for the day except to enjoy this cocktail. I wanted to post a cold and colorful drink for the occasion and I hope you enjoy as much as I am.
Fourth of July Fruity Cocktail
Ingredients
1 ounce watermelon schnapps
1 big splash cranberry juice
1 slice lemon
1 slice lime
1 1/2 ounces tequila
1/4 ounce blue curacao
1/2 ounce simple syrup (sugar water, or flavored syrup, or agave nectar works too.)
Watermelon wedge, for garnish (optional)
Directions
Mix the schnapps and cranberry juice in a shaker; pour into an ice-filled glass.
Muddle the lemon and lime slices, tequila, blue curacao and simple syrup (to make a batch, dissolve sugar in equal parts hot water and chill) in the shaker. Slowly strain into the glass over the red layer. Garnish with watermelon, if desired.

YUM! That looks good!
But ugh, 118 degrees? Omg. Stay inside the air conditioning! :)

I’m loving the sound of this cocktail! I missed it for the 4th, but I will be sure to add this to list of spirits during the next barbeque!
