How To Remove Lip Stain

June 15, 2011 By Erin Kennedy 2 Comments

You have finally found the perfect lipstick. It follows bright trend, it makes your lips look luscious and you always get compliments when you wear it. And……it is a lipstick stain. You just woke up from an amazing evening out, and your lips are still stained from the night before from the bright pucker that got you all the attention the night before. However, you don’t need that kind of attention at the office, or brunch with Mom. I have actually avoided stains for some time because I hate scrubbing and pulling at my lips to try to get that color off.
I have discovered that there are some situations where lip stains work in your favor. Like if you have a long evening, and a killer outfit without pockets. Applying gloss every time you take a sip from your cocktail isn’t that realistic.

1. Apply Vaseline
2. Let sit for 5 minutes so the stain can grab onto the petroleum.
3. Use a tissue or cloth to gently rub off.
4. Apply Chapstick to keep your lips moisturized and soften them.

Done. It is that easy. Who knew. You might of, but I didn’t. Now I can have long lasting lip color without waking up like a coke whore the next day.

I had no idea this would work! I have avoided long-wearing lip color for a long time for this very reason, but recently gave in to a nice, bright pink. Thankfully, it doesn’t look too bad the next morning, but still. :-)

Fantastic tip, I just want to add one more thing. Make sure you completely cleanse the lips (with soap or cleanser) after wiping off the petroleum jelly, and before the chapstick. You never want to leave petrolatums on your lips, just like you don’t want to leave them on the ocean floor (think BP).
