Jessica Alba, 30, has decided to start her own company making eco-friendly, non-toxic baby products. Jessica named her company ‘The Honest Company,’ and says after she broke out in a rash and allergic reaction, she knew that she needed to do something to change what is out there.
I was sneezing and my eyes were watering, and I was like, I’m so allergic to this laundry detergent, what’s in it? And how can it be safe for babies?” Said Jessica.
As a mother of young daughters (4-year-old Honor and newborn Haven), Jessica admits she feels an intense responsibility to give her children the best possible start.
Jessica also noticed that eco-friendly did not always mean cute,
“Eco-friendly does not have to be brown, bland and boring. I’ve always loved fashion and design and that didn’t stop when I became a mom. The only thing that’s changed is that now I look for products that are well-designed, as well as safe for my kids and the planet. Believe me, they’re not that easy to find.”
Jessica thinks there is a lot to learn when being a new Mom, and she wants her company to help.
“When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been,” she says. “It’s the most satisfying job in the world. But, it can also be overwhelming and confusing. I created The Honest Company to help moms and to give all children a better, safer start.”

Yes, some diapers are more costly but we love them! I have to admit, I waited until my daughter was a little older to use them, just shy of 2 months. She is almost 3 months now and we have used them for a little over a month. I am so glad we have used them.
