A very pregnant Jessica Simpson, 31, poses nude on the April cover of ELLE magazine. Jessica also announces the sex of her baby in the edition and she is beaming to announce she is having a baby girl!
Jessica follows in the footsteps of many ladies who have posed nude, or almost nude on the cover of a magazine during their pregnancy; Brittney Spears on Bazaar magazine, Christina Aguilera on Marie Claire, Cindy Crawford on W magazine and of course the most famous of them all; Demi Moore on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine in 1991.
It is a very bold move on Jessica’s part, but I love her confidence and I think she looks glowing and beautiful showing off her pregnancy in her 7th month.

On taking tabloid brutality in stride: “I’m still standin’,” she drawls. “I grew up very strong! You know, my father used to be an adolescent therapist. I remember sitting at his office, watching the girls walkin’ in and out. Kids doin’ coke at 16…heroin. Pregnant at 14. I could see what I didn’t want to be.”
On hopes for her daughter’s sense of style: “Ah swear, ah will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins!” she blurts out, her Dallas accent swooping back in this moment of heightened anxiety. “Eric is so athletic. We’re gonna have this ath-a-letic girl and I won’t even be able to take her shopping.”
On not following the Hollywood trend of crazy names: “We’re sure,” of the name, the fashion mogul says. “We’re embroidering it on things. It’s nothing shocking and nothing you’ll have to add to the dictionary. When people hear it, they’ll know why.”
On giving up her favorite vice for her pregnancy: “Givin’ up my Scotch? My Macallan 18? That was hard for me! Though now being pregnant, you crave other things. A big thing of water sounds great!”
