I didn’t call this mess-free because with kids, let’s be honest, is anything really mess-free? However, using this method to dye Easter eggs will really help. The egg won’t fall out of the whisk and so the kids can use it and not splash too much dye around the kitchen. (Hopefully.)
So when it is time to get the dye off your fingers and your kids fingers just mix a thick paste of baking soda and water and spread it on their hands (try it in the bathtub where it might not be as messy.)

Excuse me, but how do you get the egg in the wisk?

Pull the wire open and then around the egg. That should work.

Do you wait till the egg is dry to get it out? I would think if its still wet getting it out would mess it up. I only have 2 whisks. That would be a long time to wait till their dry. It is a good idea on dying but stuck on how an when to get them out. Any ideas?

I only have two whisks too. I waited, and it didn’t take too long. It doesn’t need to be completely dried before you take it out of the whisk.
