In terms of getting the experience and developing the skills that you might need, you could see if you could gain unpaid work experience within the industry. Write to a few institutions and tell them about how you are looking for a career change. You might be surprised by the opportunities you get offered. You may also be able to work these in around your current job role.
Building Up Your Confidence Levels
If your confidence levels are not fantastic, you can work on these. Feeling as though you are able to do the job is vital. Often, you can get more confident by telling yourself that you can do things. So often when you have poor confidence levels, you will end up telling yourself the opposite, that you can’t do things. Some people may call this ‘faking it until you make it’. If you change the record, you will find that you start thinking that you can do things. Eventually, by using this helpful strategy, it will become second nature and you won’t think twice about applying for positions in your new chosen career.
