Welcome back to Part 2 of my journey to find out all about Laser hair removal and my experience at Ideal Image Laser Hair Removal. To see my first post, you can see it here: https://www.mythirtyspot.com/2014/08/my-confident-summer-with-ideal-laser-hair-removal-idealsummerfun.html/.
I made my appointment with Ideal Image Laser Hair Removal and I was very excited to learn more. I went in and had a meeting with Amy. Amy is a consultant for Ideal Image and I could tell right away the passion she has for her job. She believes in this company and all that they do for their guests. The main difference that Ideal Image has compared to other laser hair removal places is that they only hire medical professionals to work removing hair. You must be a registered nurse, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner. If you decide that laser hair removal is for you, why wouldn’t you want a trained medial professional working the laser hair removal machine and removing your hair? Their standards are top notch. They are very meticulous with making sure that everything is safe and comfortable for each guest.
Because they are so meticulous, they also won’t just take anyone on as a new guest. Even though it is a non-invasive medical treatment, you must get clearance from the nurses before they accept you. You will fill out a form and the nurses will review your medical history, medications and any illnesses. The nurses will also do an assessment on the hair and skin type you have.
I had a nurse come and test my hair for treatment on my legs. I was approved for laser hair removal on my legs below my knees because it is darker hair. But I was declined for hair removal on my thighs because it is too light. A lot of places just want your business and say they can remove every type of hair. But Amy advised me that there is not the technology for laser hair removal machines to remove light colored hair, gray hair. or even red hair. It is just not possible.
With the skin type assessment, they will decide which laser machine to use. They have two machines. One for fair skin guests, and the second is for darker skinned guests. They don’t want their guests to lose any pigment when removing the hair. I thought that was a really smart idea. A lot of people may not have even considered that before.
Amy gave a lot of info to me, and a few things that stood out is that they are the best of the best. They can claim that because of their high standards. Here are some reasons customers choose Ideal Image:
- They have never closed any of their 120 stores around the country.
- Around 40% of their customers have been to another place for hair removal and it didn’t work. Hair usually came back.
- Guests have complained of being burned at other places, but it was also done by a laser technician, and not a medical professional.
- Guests have lost money or future treatments because their clinic went bankrupt.
The way the laser works is to recognize the dark pigment and create thermal damage to the root, cutting off its blood supply. They recommend 9 treatments at 8 weeks apart so the hairs can complete the growth cycle. If you come back too soon, the hair might not be in the stage to be removed completely.
Ideal Image will document your experience by taking photos so you can see a before and after.
I asked Amy what it felt like, and she described it as “like a snap of a “rubber-band.” Amy has had hair removal on most of her body, and she said it was no problem for her. They also have an option to have two nurses in there to each do one leg for example, if you want to save time.
Ideal Image is described as the best of the best. But I see it as you get what you pay for. Right now, with their sale, is the best time to get a consultation and see if this is for you. Ideal Image will do whatever they can to make it affordable for you including payment plans and also onsite credit with 0% interest (O.A.C.)
I left my consultation knowing my options and leaving having felt I met a new friend. Everyone could not have been nicer, from the front desk ladies to the nurse who gave me my assessment, and of course Amy. I was completely comfortable and felt secure in knowing that they take all the precautions for my safety. And knowing that they will do it right the first time makes me want to throw out that razor now.
