Day 2 was a rough one. You wouldn’t think so because I am still eating, and just good food. I had a headache that started around noon and was a rough one. I guess I am addicted to caffeine more than I knew. This headache picked me up and threw me across the room after it bitch slapped me. This is an eating cleanse, so I had no problem with taking some aspirin and ibuprofen. I took 2 aspirin and 2 ibuprofen. I wasn’t messing around with it. Regardless, it didn’t go away until I ate my salad for dinner around 7pm. I am very familiar with this headache. It’s always on day two of any cleanse I attempt. This headache hates my guts, and tries to torture and sabotage my super healthy efforts. But, I made it through however, it did keep me from working out. I tried to lie down to help with the headache, but it didn’t help. Once I was done eating, I was too full to work out. Have I convinced you with my excuses yet as to why I didn’t work out? Okay good. I think I have convinced myself.
Day Two and Three. Here is the deal: One serving of fruit every 2 hours. Also drink 8 to 12 oz. of water 1 hour after each serving of fruit. Also, combine 5 tbsp. of protein powder with 12 oz. of water, and drink it while eating a raw vegetable salad. You can add to your salad 1 to 2 tbsp. of olive oil, flaxseed oil or half of an avocado plus lemon juice. Drink 8 to 12 oz. of water 1 hour after eating the salad.
I wasn’t too hungry throughout the day, believe it or not, but I made a huge salad for dinner and I was full after I ate half. So that was nice. I can hear you all now screaming at the screen – “But how much weight have you lost?” Okay, okay. After day 2, I weighed and I have lost 4 pounds thus far. Not too bad. Maybe after the end of this I hope to be down 6 pounds. Mr. Jay says you can expect to lose 6 – 10 pounds in the three days. I am always at the lesser end. Oh well. It is better than gaining 4 pounds right? So here is a breakdown of my day.
11am – Another tall glass of water with lemon.
12 pm – 7 large strawberries and 2 kiwi. Tasted good. It filled me up.
1pm – Hungry! I thought I was filled up, but it is crazy how fruit digests and makes you hungry so quickly. Had my large glass of water, but really wanted the Pringles in the cupboard.
2pm – Okay, not hungry because of this damn headache. Not sure what to do. Decide to lie down.
3pm – Still with the headache. This bitch is going to be the death of me.
4pm – Headache is still there, but decide I should probably eat something. I ate a banana. Felt a little better, but not really.
5pm – Decide to make dinner and maybe I will feel better. I get out my chicken but decide to eat an orange and check my email. Downed a glass of water.
6pm – Started making my chicken and salad. Lots of things to chop and bake. So needless to say I at at 7pm. I also had a small protein shake. I had it with skim milk. 6oz. I have done the water, and it just doesn’t really work out for my taste buds too much. I figured a small one wouldn’t matter.
7pm – Downed my salad and felt a lot better. Headache gone.
I made a huge salad because I thought I was a lot hungrier than I was. I only ate half. But it was so good. Lemon juice and the seasoning from my chicken made a nice dressing and flavor to my salad.
I don’t think this cleanse is too hard, but I can see how some people could have a hard time with just eating fruit all day, especially if you have to go to work and you can see what everyone else is eating, and what you can’t. Maybe doing this on the weekend would work best.
I think I might do this again next week after my best friend leaves. I am sure there will be some cleaning out and detoxing that will need to be had after the upcoming weekend.
My Salad:
Greens
Avocado 1/2
Asparagus
Tomatoes
Carrots
Mushrooms
Chicken – 6 oz.
Fruit Serving Sizes:
On the Fruit Cleanse Diet, the following are one serving of fruit: two medium applies, six apricots, one banana, 1 1/2 cups of berries, 2 cups cantaloupe or other melon, 1 cup grapes, one mango, two oranges, two nectarines, three peaches, one pear, 1 cup pineapple, three plums or four tomatoes.
I didn’t think I would have enough fruit for two days, but I actually had more than enough and I will have enough to eat fruit or breakfast on day 4.

I tried to do a juice fast a while ago, and got a headache so bad that I finally had to quit. When I mentioned that to a co-worker who has done fasts in the past, she asked if I had “cleaned out my system first”, which I had not. Is that something that you did/do when you do these cleanses?
