I was lucky enough to get the chance to try out Revlon’s newest makeup collection. The Revlon Expression Experiment wants us ladies to play with our makeup to best express our personality and show a side of ourselves that we may not have been aware was there and use it to empower us.

This is my first video blog (yay!) and I talk about their newest makeup pieces and how I use them to express myself. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how much I liked some of the colors that I would not normally wear.

In the video, I discuss:
lipstick
nail polish
makeup primer
red lipstick
eye shadow

I expressed my makeup look by using a lavender eye shadow that was not too overpowering for my face so I could wear the bright Cherry Tart Color Burst lip butter. I was surprised at how much I loved the red color on my lips. I never thought that it was something that I could pull off, and it actually brightened my face. My favorite part about the lip butter is that I can just use a little to add some color to my lips or I can make it darker for a night out by just adding a little more.

How have I gone this long in my life without using a makeup and eye primer? It turned out to be one of those things that I will not be able to live without from here on out. It made such a difference in the way the foundation and powder appeared on my face. I received some compliments that my face looked flawless. Flawless! Who doesn’t love that compliment? Especially in this heat! I never felt like my face was melting off and my eye shadow stayed put without any re-application.

Here is how your primer fits into your makeup routine:
1. Moisturizer
2. 30+ SPF (if not included in your moisturizer)
3. Primer
4. Foundation

I took advantage of this fun summer blue nail polish and turned it into a 4th of July manicure with glitter to represent fireworks!

Here is my Hollywood glamour look wearing Revlon Lip Butter Cherry Tart. It’s my new favorite lipstick.

Hi April! You are so sweet! Thanks for commenting and your sweet compliments. I was a little nervous, but I think I should make it a goal to do more and I will get more comfortable. I love that lip butter. I too am a gloss gal, but this has changed everything!
