When Girl Meets 30

Should You Wear Make-Up Primer?

March 9, 2011 By Erin Kennedy 3 Comments

Tarte ReCreate™ Silicone-Free Primer with Wrinkle Rewind™ Technology Clear
Do you use a primer before your foundation? Should you? The answer to both is yes. Well guess what? I am in my 30’s, (obviously) and I didn’t know much about it, or even use it. Make-up artists swear by using a primer in your make-up routine. I guess the rule is, apply your moisturizer, (make sure it has spf of at least 30,) let it fully absorb, apply your primer, then your foundation.

Some people say that just using a moisturizer before your foundation should be enough, but a primer goes one step further. They even out your skin tone, help your make-up stay on longer (even in hot weather) and also absorbs excess oil. There is talc and pigment in foundation and primer keeps it from absorbing into your skin, and also keeps the talc from absorbing all of the natural moisture on your face. Hence, anti-aging.
So now what? Get yourself a primer. So it took me all this time to figure out what all the celebrities use to look like they have flawless skin.
A really good primer on the market is Tarte ReCreate™ Silicone-Free Primer with Wrinkle Rewind™ Technology Clear It can be found at Sephora.com for $32.00. Apparently it is pretty common to have silicone in primer so it goes on your skin smooth. This is the first primer ever to not have silicone in their ingredients. It is anti-aging by reducing the appearance of wrinkles by 67%, increases skin firmness by 47% and minimizes pores.
Do you, or have you used a primer? Do you see a difference?

My mum has good skin. So I just briefly took one of her SKII(www.geocities.jp/hongkong_skii/index_e.htm) to use, which I assume is a moisturizer. It’s good man I tell you! She gave me a small bottle of eye cream before but the effects weren’t that great and I stopped using. But my mum’s moisturizer is good! I can feel it reacting once I applied it

Hey Gillion! Any moisturizer is good as long as your using it so good for you! Especially if you can feel a difference on your face!
