What can I say? These Jello shots inside a fresh strawberry are; To.Die.For. I mean, I don’t even think the pictures give them justice. I am by no means a great photographer, but I tried to grab the essence of this gloriousness. Add a little whipped cream on top, pop one in, and it is literally a party in your mouth. They can be very dangerous because it tasted like a yummy dessert, and I could not taste much of the alcohol. So I am sure these little puppies could get a little out of hand if you let it. But then again, maybe that is the point right? You will not be disappointed with these. They will gain all kinds of “Oooh’s and aaah’s” and they are easy to make. And might I say, totally worth it! And since we now know that strawberries are good for brain function and acne, it is an even better excuse to make these puppies!
Wash the strawberries and core out the center, but be careful not to make a hole. Cut the bottom so the strawberry can stand flat.
1 large box strawberry Jello
1 cup boiling water
1 cup chilled vodka (I keep mine in the freezer.) This is amazing with whip cream vodka.
Boil water in microwave, about 2-3 minutes. Mix Jello until it dissolves. Let cool completely, then add vodka. Fill strawberries as full as you can. Let chill overnight. It will take longer to gel because of the alcohol.
Don’t forget the whipped cream!
Yum! I can’t wait to make these! I be they are yummy without alcohol too!
This might be THE awesomest thing I’ve seen all day. Must make them!!!!

SO fantastic!!!
Also delicious with Coconut Malibu instead of vodka.
They look SO awesome!!! A suggestion…maybe try putting strawberries in a mini muffin tin…might hold them up better!!!
These look so yummy! Could add a blueberry on top and it would be perfect for the 4th!

Making these this weekend for Girl’s Night Out at local upscale hotel in ATLANTA.
I wonder if I pureed the strawberries and make it shooter cups, would it work as well. I’m concerned about tearing up the strawberries to bits.
I’m not sure if that would work or not. You could try it. There just needs to be enough jello for it to set in the fridge. It is not too hard to core out the strawberries. It just takes time.
Have fun!
I made them and they turned out great. And they are very yummy

Awesome idea. Going to make these for my husbands 30th bday. Going to be great to take to Las Vegas. Thanks for the idea.
I meant to do these earlier, but got busy with other things. It’s now 1:22 am. I hope they firm up by tomorrow night around 8 pm for our New Year’s Eve get together. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I am pretty certain that they will be set by tonight! Enjoy! They are so dang good! Happy New Year!
About how many does one box of jello make?
They are in the freezer
How did these turn out?? I am going to make them this week-end for a grad party – What kind of liquor did you use ??
Am so gonna make these with a blueberry on top!
How many does this make??
It really depends on the size of your strawberries. But for me this made a lot. It probably made around 30 shots with the recipe above.
Is it okay to leave the strawberries cored out in the fridge for a while? I need to get more that are large enough and have to go to work first. I don’t want to make the gelatin and waste what I don’t use.
They will be fine. But I would place the strawberries in a bowl with cold water and place in fridge. That way they won’t dry out. You could keep them in the water overnight and they would be fine to use the next morning. Just set them on some paper towels to dry out for a bit. Good luck! Let me know how they turn out!
These look great and easy..can I make them a couple days ahead of time, will they hold well in the fridge. Thanks.
Yes, but just a day or two, will start to bleed.
