When Girl Meets 30

Style Guide for the Wanderlusted

June 29, 2016 By Erin Kennedy Leave a Comment

This is for all the fashionistas out there who would love to step out in style all the time. Whether it is a casual day at work , a night out with your girl friends or when you are on the go, we girls always love to keep it stylish. Here is my travel fashion guide for all you wanderlust beauties:

Travel Fashion:

Celebrities are best known for traveling in style and they get off the flight looking all fabulous.Your travel fashion begins right from the airport. It begins with your travel look and ends with the suitcase you are taking. A little superlight suitcase is a great way to add some style to your travel look. These cool small suitcases are perfect for carrying all of your essentials while still being stylish. They are also super lightweight, making them easy to carry around with you.

The best part about these little suitcases is that they are very affordable and come in different colors and patterns so you can get one to match your travel look without spending a lot of money.Picking your outfit for the flight should be based on both comfort and looking chic at the same time. Sweatpants will look great as long as you use them as trousers and pair them up well. Wearing something with an overall pattern doesn’t show wrinkles while you sit and relax comfortably through your flight.

For your destination, do keep the climate in mind while packing. Layering your outfits works really well when you switch between places and activities. Stretchy jeggings, cardigans and coverups work great when you are traveling. You can use a scarf, hat , sunglasses or even a faux fur coat to style your look. You can also create several looks using fashion accessories like chunky earrings, statement neckpieces and staple pieces like watches. While crossbodies add to your casual traveler look, totes are of great use to carry all your travel essentials.

Step out in style:

Pack versatile flats that you can either dress down or dress up depending on the occasion. Also, having flats handy is the best when it comes to combining fashion and comfort. Carrying a statement pair of wedges or ballets that go with everything is again a very comfortable option while looking chic. Something in metallics or black will go with most of the outfits.

Hair & Makeup:

Hair & Make-up are an essential part of your style game. Just a bright pop of color or the right kind of make-up can give you that edge or even change your entire look. While traveling, carrying the right products without going over board is quite a task. Going for very minimal makeup and carrying the basics is the best way to go. If you are traveling to the beach or a humid place waterproof makeup is a must. Go for a tinted moisturizer with SPF and finish it off with loose powder to set your makeup.

To add that oomph factor use a waterproof mascara and the perfect lip shade to go with your outfit. Keeping it to the basics is the perfect way to look gorgeous all day. Do not forget to carry your skincare products i.e moisturizer, lip balm, toner and most importantly makeup wipes and a good cleanser.Messy buns and easy to do hairstyles are the best for travelling.

planning ahead

Planning ahead:

This is the most important of all. Planning ahead and going through your iterinery gives you a good idea of things you’ll actually need. This way you can think through and put together outfits and looks which can be worn in multiple ways by mixing and matching. Taking a picture of what you might need can also give you a clear idea of whther you are over packing. Also, you don’t need to pack certain essentials like umbrellas, hair dryers or anything that is going to be available in the hotel for guests to use during the stay. Thus saving a lot of space.
