When my best friend was in town last week (post coming tomorrow of the shenanigans,) we went out on Saturday night with our husbands. Of course, my bf and I got all ready for our night out. We started talking about how we were both feeling cute, but that we were both wearing flats. I knew our evening consisted of a lot of walking, so I chose against wearing heels. We thought it was funny that when we were in our 20s, we would not consider going out without wearing heels, but it was not really a second thought that we were not wearing them now. My best friend said to me, “Yeah, you would not leave the house without wearing heels!” It is so true, I have so many pairs of heels in my closet, and yet, now in my 30s, they just don’t seem as important to wear them to the store, or mall or even work. I care a lot more about comfort of my feet then trying to look good. Don’t get me wrong, there is still many occasions to break out the heels and elongate my gams, but I also have the confidence to wear a cute flat and know it looks good.
Bright colors and color blocking is so popular right now, so why not add a little burst of color to your feet?
Also, the big trend to ballet flats this spring is the cap-toe look, it looks fab on with the colors and animal prints. They are everywhere so you can find some super cute flats in your price point and still be on trend!
Here are some of the latest flats that make me want to complete the other side of my closet and fill it with flats. I know they can make my outfit look just as cute, and I won’t have to worry about blisters. Now I just need the patience to wait for those Cole Haan’s to go on sale! Swoon!
