Happy Easter and Passover my lovelies! I had been brainstorming all week what to post this week for Sunday brunch. I thought of posting some Easter brunch ideas, but that doesn’t really help you the day of Easter right? So then I thought I could do Sunday Brunch Fashion. But I just did a fashion post last week with my Mad Men edition. I still can’t get over the Navy Blue dress. I am obsessed with it!
So, I thought I would share with you my Sunday brunch that my husband and I made today for Easter. It was not anything elaborate, but we both pitched in and I thought it was delicious. I must warn you. I am not the type of woman to go all crazy with decorations, or making everything perfect. I considered making one of the amazing dishes that I have featured on my weekly Sunday brunch, but I asked my husband what he wanted and he had a simple request. Just some eggs and bacon with maybe some french toast. “You don’t want Creme Brulee French Toast, or Raspberry Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast?” I asked him. “Nope, just good ole’ fashion french toast – maybe with cinnamon raisin bread.” He replied. “Deal!” I said. That worked for me. Save me some time in the kitchen to give some much needed attention to my Easter mimosa.
So for brunch he made the bacon – outside in a pan on the grill on the side burner. I didn’t even have to ask him to do that. I loathe the smell of bacon lingering in my house for two days. I just feel like I am walking through a fog of bacon grease. He also made his famous scrambled eggs. Still trying to figure out his trick with those. I made the french toast, coffee and mimosa’s. It was a perfect Easter brunch for just the two of us. Hopefully next year he will need to make enough eggs for three. Meaning: I will be eating for two, so I have to supplement the room I usually save for mimosas for more food. I think that is an okay compromise.
Here are some pics I took. I’m sure you noticed; I need a tablecloth or some place mats, but this wasn’t fancy, and I am just a regular gal having some breakfast with my favorite man and not trying to impress anyone.
I wanted to share a little more of our lives. My next goal is to put more pictures up of our faces, but hubs is not a fan of that goal yet, but it will happen. Today, I had zero desire for makeup, and I’m not ready to share what that looks like yet.
Brunch at the Kennedy’s:
French toast made with Cinnamon raisin bread
Bacon
Scrambled eggs
Dunkin Doughnuts coffee – So much better than Starbucks if you ask me!
Mimosas made with peach, mango, orange juice.
Sliced strawberries
My favorite trick. I use an egg slicer to slice my strawberries in just seconds. Easy peasy.
