There are so many vitamins and supplements out there to take everyday, how do you know where to start? I am always curious to know what other girls take and why. So I decided to share what I take on a daily basis and what it does for my health. I know there are so many more I could take, but I think I am good with taking 7 types right now. I actually keep mine in a Monday – Sunday pill holder. It actually helps me to remind myself if I took them or not.
I am all about staying healthy, so if these vitamin supplements will help, then I’m all for it.
1. Calcium Pyruvate
Boosts your body’s utilization of fat for energy by causing your body to break down fat earlier in the process. 1000 mg before each meal.
2. Vitamin D-3
Good for blood pressure, has shown to help keep cancer cells at bay and inhibits from spreading and also helps to prevent osteoporosis. This vitamin with Calcium Magnesium is the best combo to help your body absorb calcium. 1000 IU daily.

3. Calcium & Magnesium
Magnesium aids in the absorption of calcium by the body which is important to me in my 30s, and some other benefits of having magnesium is it treats migraines, insomnia and depression. It is also good in preventing cardiovascular disease which runs in my family.
4. Prenatal – Because we are planning to get pregnant this year and I want to have been taking these for at least 6 months prior. If you are thinking of getting pregnant, here is 17 Things To Do To Get Ready For Pregnancy. I take one pill a day. I like the Trader Joe’s brand, but you can check with your doctor of their preferred brand.
5. B Complex
All the B vitamins in one. Some of the benefits to taking this vitamin is reduced inflammation, helps with digestion, brain function and nervous system. It is also super good for healthy hair, nails and skin and 50mg – 100mg daily.
6. Chitosan
A barrier that works in the intestines that blocks fat from absorbing into body cells. 1000mg with meals.
7. Omega 3, Fish Oil
I take this because I think it is the best vitamin to take daily. It is the “covers” everything vitamin in my opinion. Helps with brain, lung, skin, joint, bone, mental health and it has also been shown to help prevent cancer. Follow your vitamin bottle for dose.
I’m curious, what vitamins do you take and why? What does it do for your health?
Have you noticed weight loss (see this insane transformation) due to the calcium pyruvate and chitosan?
Hi Sydni,
Well it is hard to say exactly because I’m currently trying to lose weight (read the latest groundbreaking research) so it could be helping or not. But I figured it couldn’t hurt and hopefully help with my goal.
Hope that helped a little. I saw it on Dr. Oz and he suggested it, so I thought, why not?
If I am not planning on getting prenant, is there an alternative to the prenatal vitamin?
Hi Anonymous,
I like the prenatal (even if I wasn’t getting pregnant) because the folic acid is so good for you and great for hair and nails. However, prenatal also has a lot of other vitamins like a multivitamin, so the multivitamin is a great replacement for the prenatal.
I only take a couple vitamins because I wasn’t too sure on which one’s to take. I love how you explained why you take them in easy terms. All the other sites I go to try to explain them and I have no idea what they’re talking about! Thank you!
Hi Kylie,
Thanks so much! I am also always confused, and just wanted to lay out what I take and hopefully it made sense and could help other ladies decide.
Thanks so much for your comment!
