When Girl Meets 30

Weight Watchers: Week 8 and 9 Recap

December 30, 2011 By Erin Kennedy 2 Comments

Well, these last two weeks have been a food Smörgåsbord if I have ever seen one. So much for being on a diet (avoid these 4 diet mistakes). Traveling for the holidays this year has not been kind to my waistline. My Mom is the best cook, and she always goes over the top with goodness. Not to mention the food gifts that were brought over from friends and family. Holy Cow! Well, I am catching up for 2 weeks with this post. I wasn’t as good as I wanted to be while I was at my parents house for two weeks. I tried to make better choices when I would go out with my girlfriends for dinner, but, let’s be honest…..they were not the best choices. I have to hit my faves too!

So, I have to say, that today was the first time I weighed since I left town. My Mom’s scales always seem over, and it always seems that when you use another scale, it is always more, and I don’t need more. So, I didn’t weigh at her house. I weighed today and I am Shocked with a capital S that I only gained 4.5 pounds over the 2 weeks! SHOCKED! I really was nervous to see the number because I can always tell. My pants seem tighter and my face and neck show every ounce gained.
Let’s see the real deal of why I am so shocked I only gained 4.5 pounds in two weeks.

This is just a few of the items that reached my mouth over the weekend.  Oh, and it’s missing some beer. How did I forget to put that in the pic? Probably because it was in my hand. There was a lot of beer drank this week. Is drank a word? Not quite sure about that one. Sounds weird to me.

Now let me put down the recipes I made from my blog. I should stop putting up recipes just for this reason alone. Look at all of them!

Creme Brulee French Toast
Easy Cheesy Potatoes
Waldorf Astoria Hotel Red Velvet Cupcakes
Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Creamed Corn – The best ever!

Christmas Cranberry Spritzer – without guava juice

Not to mention my famous seven layer dip (recipe coming soon.) These crazy butter garlic knots that the fam raved about so I had to make them twice. Those bitches were probably 5,000 calories each, but don’t worry that recipe is coming soon too. I always request my Mom’s famous orzo salad that is so good. Recipe will come soon for that too. I also ate some homemade mac and cheese from one of my besties Julie. So yeah, I ate alot.

Yeah, so they look like crap, but I am not a food blogger so whatevs. Besides, this recipe is so f’ing good!

Now, I hate that I have gained weight, but at the same time it is such a big motivator for me. I can drop those 5 pounds in just over a week with WW. I did it with the Philly trip, so I am hoping the same results will happen with this trip. On a side note, I am feeling a lot better. I am ready to start getting back on track and get going again. I am also excited because my husband and I decided that with the Christmas money that we received we would buy bikes. I am ready to get to tracking my food, and actually working out at the gym or on my treadmill.

It’s the new year. I have a lot of goals for this year and getting this weight on the right track needs to happen. And I mean, GOING TO HAPPEN. I am so over it! I know this plan works, but it isn’t going to work by stuffing my face with butter and cheese. A girl can only dream.

As I try to remember everything, I really can’t believe how much I ate. I need to get back on the WW train. With the new year Will be a new me and a new body and I know I can do it with WW. It has worked before and it will work again.

Here is an off note. If you have never been to Utah, here are their beautiful mountains. It is so gorgeous there. This is the view from my parents back yard. If you are going to the Alt blogging conference you will see these beauties.

Weight Watchers has a solid program. For those without medical conditions, this is the best program out there. The holidays get me every year and I don’t really celebrate. I am trying to establish a new plan with a renewed attitude.

    Happy New Year.

PS. I haven’t forgotten about the post.

This is hilarious! I love that you even put Baileys in your AM coffee. But it’s exactly what is a girl supposed to do on vacation! :-)

PS – that view is amazing. It looks like the perfect view to sit down and stare at while eating a cupcake or three.
