Sometimes we hear some heartbreaking and depressing stories from our girlfriends, sisters, or ourselves about having a hard time getting pregnant now that we are a little older. We hear so many statistics from the news, our doctors, the internet about how much harder it is to get pregnant in our 30s. It seems that there are so many issues with infertility and miscarriages it just makes us so heavy hearted.
We know that women having children in their 30’s is up 80% from 40 years ago. More and more women are waiting to have their first baby until they reach 30 and by the time women get to their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, child, they are most likely in this age group. We are tired of hearing the depressing stats and sad stories. We have decided to feature some stories of amazing women who waited and had beautiful, healthy babies. Sometimes we need some uplifting stories when we are bombarded with sad ones.
Christina Applegate is an amazing, beautiful actress. Christina turned 39 on Nov 25, and announced she was pregnant last July. She has not given birth yet and refuses to give the due date or sex. Her favorite craving is avocados and eating at all hours.
Christina has already been through so much at her young age. She lost her mother to cancer and learned at 36 years old that she also had the deadly disease. Christina had been getting mammogram’s since she was 30 years old. Learning about her diagnosis, she came to the hard decision to get a double mastectomy. Because she found it so early she did not have to endure chemotherapy but just 6 weeks of radiation. We celebrate her bravery and congratulate her and her fiancé on their pregnancy. Christina is truly an inspiration.
UPDATE: Christina updated her Facebook page last night and announced the birth of her daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble, 7 lbs., 8 oz. Sadie was born last Thursday night. Congrats!
