6 Natural Methods to Banish Dry Skin

March 15, 2017 By Erin Kennedy 1 Comment

The issue of having dry skin is common with many people looking for any method that could help with alleviating the problem. There is no doubt that it can be frustrating to end up with a dry skin that cannot seem to get better even if you use some of the top recommended products from various manufacturers.

Just as benefits of oil olive for eyelashes, you can get more benefits when opting for the natural ways to deal with the dry skin too. You have to pick the correct method and you will end up with a soft skin once again.

Here are some of the methods you could use starting today.

  1.     Minimize on the use of hot showers

Most people would feel great after having a steaming hot shower most of the time. Well, you will be surprised to know that the hot shower ends up drying your skin. The best thing would be taking a lukewarm shower with a soap containing the natural ingredients. Such natural soaps would be mild and gentle for your skin.

  1.     Exfoliating to remove dead skin

You simply need to have some natural salt and sugar body scrubs to get this done. Multiple tutorials both video and articles exist online on how you can end up with the best scrubs to help with dealing the exfoliation issue. Exfoliation is important to remove the dead cells from the skin so that you can leave the fresh skin easily absorbing the moisturizers. Don’t do it too often, a good scrub once a week will do the trick.

  1.     Aloe Vera Gel for better hydration

Aloe Vera remains to be among the best plant for various healing wonders it can do for the human skin. You would get many people using it for hydrating their skins for having the high water content. The plant still further has the water retaining mucilage. This should lock the water moisture in the skin, making it hydrated for longer.

You only need the Aloe Vera gel if you need intense hydration for your extremely dry skin. Give it a couple of weeks of applying Aloe Vera and you should notice some difference.

  1.     Ice to stop itchiness

It is often that when you bump your head against something, you can use ice to bring down the inflammation. With the same ice, you can still use it to stop any further itchiness you get from the dry skin. The dry skin would often have a mild inflammation that still comes with itchiness. The more you scratch the skin, the higher chances you might just end up cracking it. Having the cracked skin is no fun thing as you are leaving it vulnerable to the viruses and infections.

As much as the icy temperatures might be low and uncomfortable, the ice is still important for stopping the itchiness immediately as it numbs the area.

  1.     Shea butter for a softer skin

Another great way of dealing with the dry skin would be using Shea butter. The best part about this type of butter is that it can easily melt away based on the body temperature. Such a feature makes it easily absorbed into the skin creating a soft and not greasy skin. With its chemical makeup, it is made to easily bind to water, meaning that it would pull the extra moisture from the air and get it into the skin.

Getting access to organic Shea butter should not be hard. Visit a local health food store and start using it instead of your traditional lotion. Consistency is the key if you want to end up with the best soft skin.

  1.     White vinegar for healing cracks

Sometimes the dry skin would lead to cases of cracked skin too. If you end up with a dry cracked skin, you need to ensure that you take the necessary steps to heal the cracks. Most people would use a lot of moisturizer to get to heal the crack, but you can now switch to white vinegar.

Vinegar on overall is known to help with healing wounds much faster as compared to the other types of products. It is the reason you would get it being recommended by dermatologists to various patients with cracked skin. The white vinegar still has the antimicrobial properties important for keeping the infections at bay when used on a wound.

Today, you are likely to get multiple promotions about some products that are claimed to provide the best healing. If you are having the problem of dry skin, you need to choose the natural remedies, as they would not end up causing further irritations. Some of the methods coming with chemical components would affect the skin further rather than helping you easily deal with the issue. The best part about the natural methods is that the ingredients are easily available even in the house already.
