An Awesome & (Still) Bumpy Ride
On reading the guest posts on this blog, l was amazed! Why not share my thoughts on my 30s decade which overall have been the best on a personal level and professionally quite challenging !
I started this decade by giving birth to my first daughter & passing my driving license. Obviously I was a late developer but now my wings were ready to fly! Two years later another little girl followed & l then decided to quit my job in the banking industry to become a freelance IT web designer. My life partner & I now needed a home to shelter our little family so we bought and renovated a big old house into a low-energy habitation which was a more than stressful experience but now holds no regrets.
I think that l grew up in my 30s & I am now in control, yes surprisingly the unimaginable does happen!
Personally the big 3-0 has been a defining decade. I decided to go into an all female business partnership & on a very low budget we launched our mineral makeup label just one year ago. We have a quality product & fun is the motivation & I can say in the main that it has been a very interesting year but a real eye opener on business in general.
I have been an employee & now l am self employed & either way women still have a hard time overcoming old prejudices. In the 21st century, business is still male orientated & the chances of a more equal society seems to be disappearing into the mists. It is now my turn to look at my daughters as certainly my mother & grandmother did and really hope that things will change for the better when they are thirty.
But despite the difficulties, I would not change a thing!
