Anxiety About Going Out Again After Quarantine? Steps To The Perfect ‘Going Out’ Look

April 14, 2021 By Erin Kennedy Leave a Comment

The world is beginning to open up once more, and while this is happening you’re going to be ready to have a night out and be with your friends. For this to be a fun night, you need to remember how to get ready for a night out on the town. Whether you have a girls night lined up, date night planned or you are simply heading out for the sake of being out, getting ready is a process in which you want to be having fun and feel as if you’re getting it right.

Everyone chooses different priorities when they are getting ready for a night out, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t do it and look fantastic. A year of sweats and oversized hoodies is coming to an end in favor of the clothes that make you feel good. So, with this in mind, we’ve got a few tips to help you to get ready for the first night out post-lockdown.

Choose the right outfit. You want your outfit steamed and hanging on the wardrobe door waiting for you, and the right outfit is going to make you feel comfortable. There’s no need to squeeze your body (any sized body, by the way) in the bandage dress you once wore when you were 15. You do need to find whatever is simple, versatile and will feel good on a night out. So, go for the smart jeans and a strappy top, or a dress and a pair of comfortable low heels.

Shower prep! Lounging in the bath is lovely, but a shower is going to be a faster, more water-conserving way to get ready for your night out. You can wash your hair and get it into a towel turban ready for styling, exfoliate and shave your legs if you want to be ready! A rotating hair curling iron is a great tool for when your hair is dry and ready for styling, and you can do this before you pop your outfit on. You need to feel physically ready to get out and have fun and it’s much easier to do that when you feel prepped and ready for the night.

Accessorize. You’ve got your outfit and you smell great, so now you need those accessories. Think chunky jewellery, layered necklaces, statement rings and a good purse. Shoes are a must, too, and judge the ones you’re going to wear based on what your plans are for the night. Too many accessories can look overcrowded, and you want to keep it simple.

Fix your hair. After you’ve curled or straightened your hair, get it styled in an up or down do! You want to ensure that you have a cute hairstyle with as little effort as possible and that way, it’s fine if you dance and it doesn’t look so hot later on.

Your night out is going to be the first one that you have in a while, so you should spend the time on yourself and make sure that you feel confident and happy to go!
