The Dirty Dozen of Fruits & Veggies and How to Clean the Pesticides with Vinegar Wash

Buying only organic can get really expensive. However, you don’t want to put all of those chemicals in your body or in your family’s body. So there is a rule of thumb, wash “The Dirty Dozen.” This list of veggies have the most pesticides on them, and should always be washed or bought organic if possible.

– Imported grapes
– Apples
– Bell peppers
– Celery
– Cherries
– Peaches
– Pears
– Potatoes
– Spinach
– Strawberries
– Nectarines
– Red raspberries

How to clean fruit and veggie with vinegar solution:

For Hard-skinned Fruits and Vegetables:

1. Fill a spray bottle with equal parts white vinegar and water.
2. Then, spray the solution onto your fruits and vegetables; rub it in; and rinse.

For Soft-skinned Fruits and Vegetables:

1. Fill a bowl with equal parts white vinegar and water.
2. Then, soak your fruits and vegetables in the solution for a minute or two, and rinse.
