The hubs and I decided to do something special for our gender reveal. At first, we were just going to do it the two of us, but I had mentioned doing a small get-together. The hubs was all about it, and once our mother’s got wind of it, they both wanted to fly in and be here for the special moment. It is a first grandchild for each of them, so they are both beaming with excitement.
It was really so much fun, and looking back, I am so glad that we did it this way. I will cherish the moment that we found out, and that we were surrounded by our friends and family. I love the photos, and I am so happy that I will have them forever.
It was quite a production to get this planned without finding out the gender beforehand. I love surprises, so I had no intentions of finding out the gender before. I wanted to find out in the moment with my husband.
We had this party a couple of weeks ago, when I was 18 weeks. But I could have technically found out the gender much earlier. In fact, my doctor had the results ready when I was only 10 weeks along from a blood test that I took from Natera Panorama. Believe me, it was hard to wait knowing that my doctor knew my baby’s gender from the blood test where they check the DNA to find out the gender.
It was nice to know so early so we could plan the party and book the flights for our mother’s to come out.
I had my doc write the gender on a card and seal in an envelope. I then had my friend pick up the envelope and she prepared the ballon for me for our party. I could have not done this, or have been surprised without her help.
So whether you’re wanting to know early from your doctor as early as 9 weeks, or want to know early so you can plan your gender reveal, the Natera Panorma prenatal screening blood test is the way to go. Not only can you find out the gender at 9 weeks, but it also tests for Down syndrome or other chromosomal abnormalities. I was happy to learn that our baby is healthy. I wanted to have this test done to know what to expect and to make any plans or reach out to the right doctors for care after her birth. That is what was most important to me. For me, knowledge is everything.
Panorama has the lowest false positive rate of any prenatal screening test for the commonly screened chromosomal abnormalities, trisomies 21, 18 and 13. It is also non-invasive testing. Just a quick blood draw and results 7 – 10 days later.
I wanted to make a cute gender reveal dessert table. Of course, since we didn’t know the gender I decorated pink and blue!
