Facial Cleansing Sins – You May Be Hurting Your Skin and Not Know It

November 28, 2016 By Erin Kennedy 1 Comment

You may be hurting your skin and not even realizing it. If you do a few of the things mentioned below, you may be causing more breakouts, dry patches, or even causing pre-mature aging. Check out the sins you might be committing to your skin below and stop doing them! Also check out the best rated skin cleansers on the market!

1. Not Exfoliating – I am amazed at how often I hear that women don’t do this. It is a huge beauty sin! Especially if you wear make-up, particularly foundation. Your body thousands of dead skin cells every day and we need the exfoliation to remove those dead skin cells. It is recommend to exfoliate every other day. You will notice smoother skin and easier foundation application. You won’t see as much clumping or highlighted dry patches. Say hello to a flawless complexion.

Clarisonic Mia

I highly recommend Clarisonic Mia. I have had mine for 2 years and my skin has never been better, not to mention it clears out my blackheads on my nose. You can see my complete review here.

2. Over Exfoliating – On the other hand, over exholiating can take off too many skin cells if you do it too often and leave vulnerable for skin damage.

3. Water Temperature – Make sure you check the temperature of your water before splashing your face. If you cleanse your face with water that is too hot, it breaks the capillaries. It doesn’t need to be cold. Warm water cleanses better than cold, but make sure it is warm, not hot.

4. Don’t wash your face with soap and water – “It is too harsh and removes the oils that are essential for the natural pH balance. There are specialised cleansers to suit every skin type.”
