Five Unique Makeup Looks for Women over Thirty

February 24, 2017 By Erin Kennedy Leave a Comment

When moving through your thirties everything about your skin is beginning to change and you want to achieve a unique look catered to you personally. Whether you like to put makeup on the whole face or only focus on lips and eyes, you should have a good regime to begin with. Remember to use products that are matched to your skin tone. There are many unique makeups looks for women over thirty. You can start by trying one of the following:

1. Soft Smokey Eye

Some women may not like to wear a heavy amount of makeup or spend more than a few minutes putting a makeup on. The soft smokey eye is a perfect look that you can make unique to your own liking. Mascara and curling the lashes are a must for this look. To make the curl last longer you can heat the eyelash curler. Start by applying a light color eye shadow (ex. Champagne) and blend to create a base for a darker color. Then use a darker color on the outer corners of your lid, blend. Highlight the brow bone with the lightest color and add eyeliner along the lash line. You are all set!

2. Bigger Eyes

Unique makeup looks include techniques that give the impression of bigger eyes. Instead of using darker colors for an eye shadow you should try using lighter colors. Regarding the use of an eyeliner you can try both black and white. Black will be used along the top eyelash line and white – along the bottom lash line. There are some guidelines to help you achieve a flattering look. When using a dark eyeliner along bottom lash line, start at outer corner and go no more than half way toward inner corner; when using only white, go along entire bottom eyelash line. Use a light/white color eye shadow around the inner corner of eye.

3. Natural Look

When trying to achieve a natural makeup it is best to use a moisturizer such as a BB cream. This tinted moisturizer is not something heavy like a liquid foundation and contains SPF that is a great way of preventing dark spots on aging skin. Add blush using a cream instead of powder and use a black or brown mascara. Use eye shadows that have a pinkish tone or other colors similar to this tone. You can also apply a nude lipstick that will complete the natural makeup.

4. Bold Lips

Combining the natural look with an intense lip color is a great way to keep things elegant yet classy. As women age lines become more prominent near lips and eyes a heavy amount of eye shadow, especially darker colors, will accentuate deep lines. A soft glow to the eyes and bold lipstick come together fantastic. Determine your skin type and if you have a warm, neutral or cool skin tone try applying a bold color lipstick that will bring out your lips. Pro Tip: find a lip color that is one to two shades deeper than your natural lip color.

5. Cat Eyes

The cat eye look comes in different varieties. It is created with the help of an eyeliner and can help you create either a soft look or a bold look. It is a simple yet tricky unique makeup look considering everyone has different shaped eyes. The cat eye can be worn alone or combined with a slight smokey eye. Start at the outer corner of your eye and draw a small light up toward the end of your eyebrow; draw a line from the outer corner of your eye to connect with the previous line using the bottom lash line as a guide and after that fill in the shape.

For cat eyes, it is better to use a felt tip eyeliner, as it has a precision tip applicator, which will make the application process much easier.

For aging women, there are many unique makeup looks that can be tried. Some women may prefer a routine with fewer steps, while others may enjoy taking the time to use multiple products. This article provides you with simple makeup looks that go towards unique looks which women can choose from.
