Getting Through Life Obstacles with Help from Life Reimagined

August 12, 2016 By Erin Kennedy 10 Comments

We all have struggles and we all go through hard times at one point or another. Some people keep it to themselves, and some people reach out to the help of their friends of family. Or we all know those other types of people who lay it all out on social media for us to know about.

We all handle stress and difficult times differently. We all could use some help in navigating what we are going through. Would’t it be nice if we all just had a life coach on speed dial? Or that we could just email when we were going through something who could offer advice and help you figure out which direction you were going?

Well now it’s that easy. AARP has put together a website to help people get through a hard time. They have life coaches on call who are there to help you get through your tough time called Life Reimagined.

Life Reimagined is a new type of guidance system made up of many types of tools and programs that help you with the way we live our lives. Delivering anything from connections, activities and inspiration which can happen, online, offline and also in your community.

The programs are based around work, relationships or life in general. The people who are there to help are experts in their field or best-selling authors who are ready to get you to the next step. They focus on getting people who have been there before and offer advice from their education and experience.

I am signing up for the Life Reimagined program, and I am going to share with all of you my experience and what struggle I am going through. For me, my struggle has been the juggling act of work and family. Trying to juggle the two has been really difficult for me. A lot more difficult than I anticipated. I work from home and run a business of full-time blogging. I run three blogs, manage contributors, an assistant and trying to negotiate working with businesses to keep me employed in doing what I love.

If you’re a blogger, or work at home or online, you know that a lot of hours are required to keep your business thriving. I used to work anywhere from 8 – 12 hours per day depending on my workload for that week. I loved every minute of it. I figured I was at a good place withy business, I had been a full-time blogger for 4 years and we decided to et pregnant. I had my beautiful daughter in January, and I had a very difficult pregnancy. I let work slack a bit because I was sick the entire 9 months. I just figured once I had her that I could work while my baby slept. Just one problem. My baby does not sleep. She has been a difficult sleeper since day one, and hence, I can’t get her to sleep in the day much at all. A lot of my day is trying to get her to nap, then it is only for 30 minutes.

Needless to say, I have not been able to put as much time into my business, and yet, I feel like I am trying to steal time away to get some things done. Then I have the mom-guilt that I am not focusing on my daughter 100%.

I am looking forward to using the Life Reimagined website and talking with coaches and working with the modules to help me figure out how to deal with my constant inner battle of guilt, and stress. I am excited to talk to real life coaches who are experiences in this area and can help me figure out what to do next, or how to deal.

So far on the website, it has been easy to navigate. I really get the feel as though it is really trying to get to know my personality. I took a few tests to help me build my life map, and see what is most important to me. There is so much cool information, I can’t wait to dig in more.

Stay tuned for my experience with Life Reimagined at the end of the month.

Good for you to get help. The is the first step to everything. We all have guilt, and stress some just worse then others. Take one day at a time and know that there are people out there who are rooting for you!
