When Girl Meets 30

3 Different Home Remedies To Get Rid Of Cellulite

July 30, 2015 By Erin Kennedy 3 Comments

Cellulite, ugh. It is really the worst. Now that I am in my 30s, I don’t have the legs I used to. I used to strut around in shorts all summer, now I can’t remember the last time I wore shorts, and I can only blame cellulite. It is not as bad as it could be, but I might as well try out some home remedies to see if it makes a difference.

Some Dermatologists say more than 85 percent of women over 30 have cellulite. Fat cells grouped together and separated with fibrous strands cause cellulite’s bumpy appearance. It only gets worse with weight gain and having children because the gaps between the cell groups expand and that causes the dimpling.
Here a a couple of home remedies that may work.

Apple Cider Vinegar
HomeRemediesWeb says the female hormones estrogen and progesterone are responsible for the accumulation of fat cells and resulting cellulite in women. They also report stress, pregnancy, hard massages, lack of exercise, genetics, weight gain and fluid retention as contributors of cellulite.
Apple cider vinegar contains components that some say reduce cellulite’s appearance.

Drink 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar mixed with 8 ounces water each morning, or mix three parts apple cider vinegar (10 ways to use ACV for health and skin) and one part massage oil and knead it into your skin twice a day.

Coffee Sugar Scrub
Another home remedy, this one from  Dr. Oz, supposedly reduces cellulite’s appearance by enhancing fat metabolism and removing fat and liquid from your skin.
1/2 cup coffee grounds
1/4 cup brown sugar.
Olive oil
Rub the olive oil into cellulite trouble spots and then massage the scrub into the same areas, moving your hands in circular motions. Rinse the solution off.

Witch Hazel and Oil Lotion

8 oz of an unscented base lotion
3 tbsp Witch Hazel lotion
10 drops Juniper oil
10 drops Rosemary
30 drops Grapefruit Oil
30 drops Cypress Oil

Add witch hazel lotion and all essential oils together and mix well. Add the witch hazel, essential oil mixture to the unscented lotion and shake well.
Apply this mixture daily by massaging in a circular motion into the area you want to treat. Use in the morning after your shower and in the evening before bed.
This cellulite thigh cream mixture is both easy and effective. You can see results within 3-6 weeks of continued use.

Exercise also helps to reduce cellulite by replacing it with muscles. Some women get cellulite because of genetics, but you can still try to reduce it with some of these remedies.
