I’m a firm believer that special moments in dining come from the little touches. It’s all about attention to subtle details…that extra garnish that almost goes unnoticed, but in reality makes all the difference.
It could be finishing your dish with a sprinkle of crunchy sea salt, pairing your meal with that perfectly compatible cocktail, or creating a bit of ambiance by setting a beautiful table with these quick & easy burlap place mats.
Whenever I’m hosting a dinner party, I always set aside a few extra minutes to give the table setting a bit of attention. It’s these little details that separately are insignificant, but together create the perfect meal.
Recently I hosted a family style dinner, and was inspired to create a rustic table setting. With a quick trip to the fabric store for burlap and few snips of the scissors, I had these utterly simply place mats that were just the touch my table needed.
Here’s how it’s done in 3 easy steps!
And the nice thing with setting the table is that you can easily take care of it the night before…in fact, I highly recommend doing just that. We can always benefit from one less thing to tend to the day of hosting, right?
These also make a very sweet and thoughtful housewarming or hostess gift…and no one needs to know they only took 15 minutes to make it. (PS…here’s a quick tutorial for printing gift tags).
