How to Take Off Makeup the Right Way & Keep Your Skin Hydrated

August 2, 2016 By Erin Kennedy 1 Comment

Removing your makeup every night is daunting, but it is super important that you do. However, it is also important that you take the correct steps in removing your makeup that contributes to keeping your skin healthy and hydrated which is why I am super excited to partner with Simple and their makeup removing products.

When you’re working on your nightly makeup removing routine, you also want to make sure that you are using products that assist in your routine for the better. There are a lot of different brands on the market, so where do you start? And how do you try a different brand when you have been so loyal to what you have been using for years.

Maybe it is time to look at your skin and look at your products and see if they are working for you. When shopping it can be easy to stick with the same products for a long time because it can be super overwhelming to try something else because there is so much on the market.

Experts say that the first step to really cleansing your face and getting the makeup off is to “pre-clean.” That includes makeup remover, makeup remover wipes or makeup removing cleansing oil. You want to wipe away the day’s dirt and makeup so you’re not just mixing it into your pores with your facial soap.

Eye makeup remover is essential for getting that stubborn eyeliner or mascara off and is gentle enough for your eyes than a regular cleanser.

There are some fab products that you can get at Walmart and it might be my new favorite. I start my nightly makeup removal routine with Simple Dual Effect Eye-Makeup Remover and I pair with Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil.  I will then use my exfoliator and wash my face and finish with my moisturizer.

I made a little vid to show how well the Simple Duel Effect Makeup Remover works. It took my makeup off easy and I was super impressed how well it took off my mascara without pulling on my lashes. I was loving the Simple Hydrating Oil. It made my skin feel so soft and conditioned. The next day I touched my cheek and I was so surprised at how soft it felt. I removed the makeup from half of my face so you could see the difference.

I am super stoked at the hydrating oil. Since I live in Phoenix, my skin is dry all year long. I try everything to keep it moisturized, but my skin is naturally dry, and the weather makes it worse. I have flakes on my skin almost year round. My skin feels so amazing.

I love using almond oil. It’s natural and very effective.
