When Girl Meets 30

Vintage Christmas Tablescape

November 17, 2015 By Erin Kennedy 48 Comments

Christmas is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited. I couldn’t wait to start decorating but this year I wanted to do something a bit different. I wanted to create a “Vintage Christmas.”  We were having guests over for an evening and wanted the table to look beautiful, but have a vintage feel.

I started with a color scheme of black, silver, white, cream with green accents. I decided to use real greenery for my greens to bring the outdoor in.

Anything that I could find in whites or silver I purchased. I found those adorable silver and white doves that I instantly fell in love with. You can never go wrong with candles and used a neutral table runner to allow the centerpieces to shine over the black table.

On the buffet table we had some appetizers before dinner of a variety of cheeses and baguettes. We also enticed everyone with what would be for dessert. A Caramel Apple Tart and French Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Ganache and Frost Bitten Cranberries.

Of course, we didn’t forget the wine. We gave our guests both red and white to choose from, but these wines are so good, they didn’t last long. We served 2012 Cambria Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir and 2012 Cambria Katherine’s Vineyard Chardonnay.

Here are my photos of the set up. I would love to hear how your decorating this holiday season.

What a beautiful display! I love formal decor like that. It just makes things so elegant. Our Christmas decor was very simple. I have several German Christmas candle spinners, so we lined those down the table with a few silver accent pieces. It was fun watching our friends play with the spinner and the music they made added to the ambiance.
