When Girl Meets 30

#WishForOthers All Year Long

December 8, 2014 By Erin Kennedy Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Capital One. All opinions are 100% mine.

It is that time of year. Joy and laughter with the excitement of the hoidays in everyone’s eyes. Holiday music playing and lights glowing makes me feel the holiday spirit and I get so excited!

But it is also an important time to think about others as most of us do during the season. A couple of weeks ago, I shared a post about a wonderful campaign that Capital One is doing through the holiday season called #WishForOthers.

The idea is to share your wish for someone else, and Capital One may choose your wish and make it come true! Your wish could be for a friend, family member, community, neighbor, or anyone on your list who could use some holiday cheer. With #wishforothers, let everyone know what your wish is on Twitter, Instagram or the Capital One Facebook page until December 23rd. You don’t want to miss a chance to make your wish granted.

In case you missed it, my wish was for a local animal no kill shelter that works completely on donations, takes in animals and tries to find them homes. It is called Safe Haven for Animals. It is where we rescued our beloved cat Sophie. They do so much and I would wish that they had something in return. You can see exactly what I wish for them in my video below.

We love this charity and helping animals, but your #wishforothers could be any charity or even helping local small businesses.

Last Saturday was Small Business Saturday, and it is geared towards shopping at locally owned smaller shops, and not so much at the big chains. It is helping your local neighbor and the community.

Maybe there is a local small shop that you love and would want to wish for them. There is a dedicated day to small shops, but we should always keep them in mind when shopping that they can use our support all year long too.

I hope I have inspired you to have your own #wishforothers. Please let me know in the comments what your wish for others would be, and don’t forget to tag @Capital One on social media to qualify.
